Are you trying to replace fixtures that are higher voltages, 277V to 480V? We have solutions that cover these higher voltage installations. Our constant current drivers are equipped to handle everything from 100 Volts up to to 480 Volts (standard driver in our kits are 100V-277V). We can handle single or 3-phase power as well. Talk to our sales engineers and we can get your lighting situation taken care of.

4. Color Temperature Options
Color temperature or correlated color temperature, measures the temperature of a light source. The Kelvin scale measures a bulb's color temperature. Bulbs with a low color temperature produce warm light (in the red, orange, and yellow spectrum). Those with a high color temperature produce cool light (in blue and white spectrum).

* LED Color Choice
To replace Metal Halide, 5000K is a great color choice. If you would like a warmer light, choose 4000K. HPS high bays are around 2300K. Moving to 4000K or 5000K will greatly improve the quality of indoor light.
5. Light Quality: Color Rendering Index
Color rendering index defines the color of light. It tells us how well a light source will reveal the colors of items compared to sunlight (the ideal light source). When it comes to HID lamps, people usually complain about one thing: poor light color. Light color is important in warehouse applications. It has a huge impact on clarity and contrast.
Most of our LED Warehouse fixtures are offered between CRI 70 and 85. We can special order almost any CRI you might need.

Anything over 70 is good. In applications such as assembly work where fine detail is necessary, then select 80 to 90 CRI.
6. Beam Angles: Proper Light Distribution
The beam angle is what determines the distribution of light. A wide beam angle produces softer light and distributes it better to different areas of a room.
A narrow beam angle produces concentrated light good for accent lighting. It makes the light more intense and focused.
Our LED warehouse lights are available in a range of beam angles: from 15° (narrow) to 120° (wide).
7. Lighting Controls
Motion Sensors and other controls can dramatically reduce lighting costs by turning off or dimming the lights when people leave the area.
PIR and microwave motion sensors can be added to turn the lights on when motion is detected and off / dimmed when no activity is detected. To dim, the bay fixtures need a 0-10V dimmable driver. Unlike traditional lighting, dimming LED fixtures is relatively simple and does not affect the life of the bay fixture.

If you have areas of the warehouse that has limited traffic, consider adding a motion sensor. You can either turn off the lights or dim them down significantly. And this will save you even more money monthly. Remember this - if you want to dim the lights, your fixture will need a dimmable LED Driver. How many LED lumens to replace 400W Metal Halide Warehouse Light?
We have found that a range between 18,000 and 30,000 offers the best lumen packages to replace 400W HID. For an answer specific to your warehouse we suggest doing a photometric study, which we provide for free.
How many LED lumens to replace 1000W Metal Halide Warehouse Light?
This is a very subjective question. Best can change based on the specific needs of the customer. What is best for one area may not be best for another. Conditions may exist that requires the use of a specific fixture over another. It may be because of light levels, distribution, heat, mounting height. Or it may be in a hazardous location.

What are the best color temperatures to use for LED Warehouse Lights?
The two most popular is 4000K and 5000K. 5000K is a good replacement for Metal Halide for warehouse fixtures. If you are currently using 4000K Fluorescent tube or HPS, 4000K would be a good option.
How many LED high bay lights do I need in my warehouse?
The best way to do this is to create a lighting layout using your warehouse. A lighting layout uses buildings dimensions and other factors and creates a software representation. We can then add your existing light locations and model this with different light options.
