Choosing the Best LED Area Light

That’s where you can rely on our lighting expertise. We are very familiar with how these lights work, their strengths, and when to use one light over another. Commercial-Grade LED Area Lighting

Our lights are more robust and powerful than products intended for residential usage. Our products work in commercial lighting and industrial lighting applications. They are not meant for residential applications. Our Commercial LED Area Lighting and Industrial Area Lighting fixtures come with ( at least ) a 5-year warranty.

When to Use LED Yard Lights / Area Lighting

When you have a large area that requires lighting. This could be for security reasons, or for providing general area lighting. LED Area Lights are perfect for large outdoor areas, parking lots, site lighting, walkways loading docks, and any outdoor spaces requiring lighting. It will provide excellent light distribution patterns and sufficient light output and brightness in large spaces.

LED Area Lights: Energy Efficiency and Cost Savings

You should expect at least 50% energy savings and as much as 95% when lighting controls, like photocells and motion sensors, are used. LED Lights can dim, and they can also turn on and off instantly, which makes them perfect when used with a dimming motion sensor lighting control.

Maintenance costs are a lot lower, if not eliminated. There are no bulbs and ballasts to replace and change. These lights can be costly to maintain if man-lifts are needed to reach the lights.

LED Area Lights Design Lights Consortium (DLC) Listed

Many of our outdoor LED area lighting fixtures are DLC-approved and eligible for utility rebates. For larger rebates, look for DLC premium lighting for your outdoor space.

Replacing 400 Watt Metal Halide Area Lights with LED Yard Lights

It depends on the type of light you are replacing. We have many LED outdoor fixtures that can replace 400 Watts.  You’ll usually need 15,000 to 25,000 lumens, depending on your application, to replace 400 Watts HID.

It all depends on the type of light you are replacing. We have many fixtures that can replace 1000 Watts. You’ll usually need 38,000 to 48,000+ lumens, depending on your application.

Retrofit with LED Retrofit Kits or Choose a New LED Fixture

Retrofitting makes sense if you want to keep the aesthetic appearance of your existing fixture. For the most part, replacing is a better option unless there is a specific reason you want to retrofit.

LED Area Lights IP65 Classification

IP Ratings are a measurement of a fixture’s dust and waterproofing abilities. For water, you need IP65 to IP69-rated fixtures to withstand wet weather conditions.

LED Area Light Dark Sky Compliance

Dark sky compliance is a set of rules designed to ensure light does not leak outwards or upwards. Keeping the lights pointing down is a good start. Reducing glare is also important. Your local city or town zoning department is the best place to start. They will confirm if your outdoor area lights need to be dark sky compliant.
