Commercial Outdoor LED Lights for Parking Lots
In parking lots, we typically see area lights such as shoe boxes as well as cobra heads. Most tend to be HID light sources, such as Metal Halide and High Pressure Sodium. Most lights tend to be either 250W, 400W or 1000W.
Energy reduction with LED can be 75% or greater when replacing these other outdoor parking lot lighting technologies, and with added controls such as motion sensors and dimming, energy savings can be even greater. Why light the parking area at full power when no one is around? With LED, dimming a light source to 10-90% is easy, and when someone enters the parking area space, the lights can be turned on to full power. This provides savings and security in one great package.
It is important to understand light distribution when it comes to lighting parking lots. We can provide you a photometric evaluation of your area and what solution works the best. In this way there are no surprises - what you see on paper is what you will get when the lights are installed. So whether you need entirely need LED parking lot light fixtures and poles or just a LED parking lot light retrofit kit, we can provide this evaluation for you.
Option 1: Entirely New Parking Lot / Pole Light Fixtures
LED area lighting options can replace your existing fixtures and we have the power to replace everything from 250-1000W Metal Halide. These long lasting LED Lights are extremely efficient when it comes to creating light while using very little electricity to do so. UL Listed, DLC Qualified, these lights will provide you with years of trouble free life.
Also called Cobra Heads, these lights are what you find on the parking lots and roadways of the a facility or public area. They typically tend to be small wattage bulbs, probably 70-100W. With these lights, you can retrofit them with a LED Retro Fit Kit or replace then with a new LED Street Fixtures. These street lights are either UL or ETL Listed, most are DLC Qualified for rebates and are backed with at least a 10 year warranty.
Option 2: Parking Lot LED Retrofit Kits
LED Retrofit Kits are designed to replace Metal Halide and High Pressure Sodium in your existing fixture. This is nothing more than replacing your existing bulb and ballast with the LED Retrofit Kit Head and LED Driver. 11 kits are available to replace everything from 70W to 1500W HID, making them a good option for any LED HID retrofit conversion. Extremely efficient up to 165 lumens/watt and DLC Premium Qualified to maximize your rebates!
Retrofitting can be a extremely cost effective option. In fact, we recommend it over a full replacement if you don't need to fully replace your existing light poles. The only time you should is if they are outdated, falling apart, or want a new look in your parking lot. With LED pole lights retrofit kits, you will be able to reduce the amount of money it costs to convert to LED and start realizing the benefits of LED in your car lot. Also, if you are unsure what retrofitting is it is simply replacing the existing light source with a new one. LED replacement bulbs for parking lot lights are what retrofits are. 4 Main Reasons to Convert to Commercial LED Parking Lot Pole Lights
1. Higher Quality of Light increases safety and security: Our LED lot lights are better
sources of light for two reasons. First, the quality of light, measured
as Color Rendering Index (CRI) is typically higher most if not all the
times than the traditional light sources they replace. Secondly, LED lot systems do not flicker like fluorescent light sources. While
flickering may not seem like an issue, being under lights that flicker
can cause eye strain and even headaches. It's been our experience that
every time we retrofitted a parking lot with LED lights, not only did the
light levels improve, the curb appeal rises and the complaints dropped to near zero. This just goes to show that our parking lot LED light fixtures can do more than just save energy, which is next on the list..
2. Save Energy - therefore - Save Money:
A typical metal halide parking lot retrofit to LED kits saves you at least 50%
(or more) in less energy used. This is real money that you don't
have to spend while maintain the same if not better light levels you
currently have. The majority of our parking lot LED lights are rebate
eligible, either registered under DesignLights Consortium (DLC) or
Energy Star (this goes for our LED parking lot light retrofit kits too). All of our lights are UL or ETL listed for safety. All our
DLC lights come with either a 5 or 10 year warranty. Many utility
companies offer rebates for DLC Qualified or Energy Star certified
products, saving even more money. High use areas often see paybacks in
less than a year. Contact us for a free quote and we can even do a
customer payback analysis for you on your lighting products.
3. Longer Lifespan:
Converting from say a metal halide pole light to an LED pole light fixture will realize the above two benefits, along with this one: longer lifespans. LEDs are known to last up to 4 times longer than metal halide or HPS parking lot lights, giving you some serious savings. And depending on how your parking lot lighting design is layed out, you can realize tons of savings through less maintenance requirements. Since most parking lot lights are high in the air, it can get expensive to pay someone to switch them out all of the time. By installing LED pole light retrofit kits or replacing your entire system with LED, you will be able to buy less replacement lights along with reduce your maintenance costs associated with your parking lot lighting system.
4. Retrofitting will Save More:
Choosing a LED parking lot lights retrofit kit over a full fixture replacement can save you a lot of money in regards to your initial investment. The difference between retrofitting and full replacement - in simple terms - is retrofitting is simply replacing the illumination source (the bulb) with LED. Whereas a full replacement typically involves getting new luminaire technology along with new poles other hardware that is involved in the entire fixture. For this reason, unless you need entirely new fixtures, we suggest opting in for some LED retrofit kits for parking lot fixtures. This is unless of course your old fixtures are old, not matching, or simply wish to be upgraded. Either way, we can help solve your ourdoor parking lot lighting needs.
