Replacing Old Light bulbs
In the past we purchased light bulbs based watts. For example, we would go to a store to purchase a 60W bulb to replace a 60W bulb that had burned out. Why not purchase bulbs based on the light it produces and not the energy it consumes?
The next time you purchase a light bulb, consider choosing the bulb based on the light it produces and not the energy it consumes. The measurement of brightness is called a lumen. The higher the lumens, the brighter the bulb.
For example, an old 100W incandescent bulb produces about 1600 lumens while a 60W bulb produces 800 lumens. Select a LED bulb that produces around 800 lumens and you've matched the light output.
