Q. I hear that if you drop a CFL and it breaks this could be an issue. How about LED’s ?
A. CFL’s contain mercury, so breaking one is a serious issue. You want to make sure that you thoroughly clean it up, and there are many guides online on how to properly do this. It is a very serious matter. Since LED’s don’t contain Mercury, there is no risk of contamination of mercury if one breaks. Keep in mind, a lot of our LED’s are not made of glass, so dropping one usually doesn’t harm it.
